As a matter of fact, you are called to take part, with all the ardour of your youth, in the construction of the Europe of peoples, so that every person should be recognised in his dignity of beloved child of God and to build a society founded on solidarity and fraternal brotherhood.

THE SAINTS AND PATRONS

SAINTS CYRIL AND METHODIUS

Have you ever been sent into a mission? A real one?

In the 9th century, two brothers set out on a road to bring the words of Jesus Christ to a place 1000 km away. It was a long dangerous road but it turned out to be a real success….

SAINT CATHERINE OF SIENA

Today, we present to you Saint Catherine of Siena, whose feast we celebrate on April 29th.

St. Catherine found God as the centre of her identity.

SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI

St. Francis of Assisi is quite probably one of the best known and most beloved Saints in the Church’s history.

Our eyes stare at his life as at a masterpiece of God’s grace, marked so deeply by the Lord’s love that even his flesh, for the very first time in history of mankind, got impressed with the signs of the passion of Christ himself.

SAINT BENEDICT FROM NORCIA

If one reads Benedict’s Rule carefully and in no hurry, he may find unexpected and fitting parallelisms to our Scout world, as though B.P. was inspired in more than one occasion by the Saint’s thoughts.

HISTORY OF THE EUROMOOT

The first “moot” took place in 1931 in Kandersteg, Switzerland.

The first “Euromoot” of the Federation of European Scouting took place in 2007 in Slovakia and Poland. However, this was not the first international meeting of the red branches. In the Holy Year 1975, 500 leaders, rovers and rangers of our Federation went to Rome as pilgrims.

EUROPE AND ITS CHRISTIAN ROOTS

Half of the Euromoot’s name is dedicated to Europe, the Europe that we show on our uniform, the Europe that we commit ourselves to serve in our scout promise that we renew at the start of our ranger’s journey and the rover’s commitment.

We are familiar with the concept of Europe, yet it is not so easy to grasp. Let’s take a moment together to think about this
